Awards
- 2005 – Voted “Best Economy Class of Asia” by the German travel magazine Clever Reisen!
- 2004 – Ranked 5th best Business Class in Asia and 9th best worldwide in the Skytrax survey. Also awarded 4-star ranking, placing Royal Brunei in the same category as British Airways, Emirates, Malaysia Airlines and Qantas.
- 2002 – Muhibah, the airline's inflight magazine was voted First Runner-up in the categories of "Best In-flight Magazine" and "Best In-flight Entertainment Guide within the Magazine" at the Avion Awards organised by World Airline Entertainment Association (WAEA). Muhibah had also won first place in the "Best Inflight Entertainment Guide within the Magazine" category in 1998, 1999 and 2000.
- 1999 & 2000 – First in the category of “World's Leading First Class” at the World Travel Awards.
- 1999 – Awarded the JAR-OPS-equivalent Air Operators Certificate (AOC). Royal Brunei is the first airline outside Europe to achieve this certificate, a recognition that it has attained high and consistent standards of safety.
- 1998 – Nominated in the category of "Best Carrier to the Middle East" at the Travel Weekly Globe Awards.
- 1997 – Placed in the “Best Airline” category, PATA (Pacific Asia Travel Association) Awards.
